Sharon
Turner
Training for the Young Horse and Rider
Sharon
is a Lifetime USPC member and graduate ‘A’
pony clubber from the Difficult Run Pony Club in the
VA region. She is an active rider, trainer and breeder
with over 20 years of experience within the equestrian
community. Sharon has successfully competed from novice
through preliminary levels in eventing, through second
level in dressage and has trained and schooled to
more advanced levels in both dressage and jumping.
The current focus of her own riding is in the development
of the young horse for sport. She has participated
and ridden in young horse training seminars and has
developed several young progeny for the competition
arena. In 2003 Sharon qualified for, and was able
to compete in the USAE 5 year old Young Horse National
Championships in dressage. She continues to receive
guidance through numerous clinicians and instructors
but notably credits her pony club foundation years
with instruction from local greats such as Phyllis
Dawson, Nancy Cleveland, Stephen Bradley, Major Jeremy
Beale, and USPC National Examiner Cathy Frederickson.
She was a Visiting Instructor for the USPC and actively
teaches with the Redland Hunt Pony Club in the MD
region. Sharon is currently based out of Ryland Knoll
Farm in Rixeyville, VA, see www.rylandknollfarm.com,
and is available for lessons and clinics within the
MD and VA regions. She may be reached at 301-706-3146
or at rylandknollfarm@comcast.net.
